這年頭大概沒有人不曉得Pizza Hut是賣Pizza的。
所以Pizza Hut 說We have pizza ,後面那句話就是多餘的。

其實這是一個蠻常見的語病,因為英文Over這個字本身就有「太」的意思,所以over的前面根本不需要再說「太」。

1. 提款機的英文你會說ATM machine嗎?
2. 提前計畫事情是很重要的 We need to plan everything in advance. 這句英文很OK啊。
3. 絕對必要的這句話的英文是It's absolutely necessary.

5. 老王是個禿頭 Mr. Wang is bald-headed.
如果上面五題你都回答YES,小心你已經得了贅字捱囉。但大家別沮喪,因為很多老外
也有這個毛病,而且頻率之高令人難以想像,這跟台灣很多人掛在嘴上的太Over是一樣的。
教練這幾年教英文贅字蟲抓了不少,今天先分享最可怕的贅字陷阱,
最後,上面那五題的贅字在哪裡?我們來很快地看一下
1. ATM 是Automatic Teller Machine的縮寫,看見了沒?M這個字母就已經有machine的意思了
2. To plan something就已經有提前計畫的意思了,所以不用再說in advance. 其實即便中文的「計畫」,本身也有事前的意思,所以根本不用講「事前計畫」。
3. It's absolutely necessary. 一樣的道理,只要說It's necessary就好了。
4. Annual Anniversary這句說法的Annual 根本不需要,因為anniversary 就有周年的意思啦
5. Bald-headed不需要再加頭這個字了,難道無毛的問題會出現在膝蓋上嗎?
加上headed其實是多此一舉啊!
