超複雜且老外也搞不清楚的due to 和 because of 差異點，教練一個小口訣讓你秒懂且永生不忘！(本周必看)
Due to 和 because of 在中文裡面都有「 因為/由於 」的意思，所以很多人以為這兩個字可以互換互用，但事實真是如此嗎？搞不清楚這兩個詞兒的差異點。其實沒啥奇怪，因為連母語是英文的老外也都會亂用。教練儘量用簡單的方式解釋給你聽，這樣你將來無論寫作或是口說都不會犯錯。 這邊要先說的是， 這 兩個字被當成 介系詞片語 的時候，如果是放在句子的開頭，而且是口語的使用，其實是可以通用的 。 (O) Because of the thunderstorm, we stayed at home. (O) Due to the thunderstorm, we stayed at home. 但是如果這兩個字放的位置是句子中間，而不是開頭，那就不能互換通用了。為什麼？ 請看文法說明。 Due to 是形容詞 ， 只能修飾 名詞 或 代名詞 。 Because of 是個副詞 ， 只能拿來修飾 動詞/形容詞 和 子句 ， 不能拿來修飾名詞或代名詞 。 如果覺得上面的說明很複雜，那記得下面這個小口訣就好 ： Due to 的前面是名詞 Because of 的前面是動詞 按照上面的口訣，教練出個題給你寫，答錯的話打屁股。 I missed the train _____the rain. 請問上面這個空格要填哪個字 ？是 because of 還是 due to ？ 正確答案是 I missed the train because of the rain. 除了小口訣之外，還有幾個小技巧可以幫助你判斷該用哪一個字。 1. 英文的due to其實跟caused by可以互換使用 ，所以如果你發現這個句子用caused by說不通，那就不能用due to了。 (O)：The delay was due to a sudden thunderstorm. (O)：The delay was caused by a sudden thunderstorm. 2. 另外一個幫助你判斷該使用那一個字的方式，就是要記得， due to 本質上是形容詞，所以只能修飾「狀態」 。至於 becasue of 因為是副詞，所以修飾的是「動作」 。 請看下面的例子 (O) His fai...
