World's Ice Sheets Are Melting Faster

For those in doubt about global warming, a new study shows that it is in fact happening. A team of 50 plus scientists from 36 labs around the world have concluded that the polar ice caps are melting at a faster rate than previously believed. They analyzed data taken from 10 different satellites that have been observing the Earth's changes. From that, they estimated that Greenland lost some 152 billion metric tons of ice per year between 1992 and 2011, while Antarctica dropped 71 billion a year. This resulted in the sea level rising a height of 11 millimeters in that time period.
