七個職場禁忌!不信邪就加不了薪!這一篇讓你遠離22K!

不管你是在學還是已經就業,這篇文章都具有極高的參考價值。在職場打混多年的我發現,這年頭會做人比會做事還來得更受用。如果你是個EQ高,懂得交際、嘴甜又大方,且具有專業實力的人,升遷加薪絕對少不了你一份。反之,只會悶頭做事不擅長與人交際,恐怕只有被孤立陷害的份。大家看得懂上面這篇漫畫要嘲諷的重點嗎?那就是學歷文憑是個屁,討好老闆才聰明。好像不管有什麼抱負理想,最終還是要當個狗腿馬屁精an ass kisser,踩著別人的頭才能往上爬。



專業實力叫做hard skills交際能力則是soft skills。我後來觀察到,情緒控制與面面俱到的能力,有時決定一個人職場的順遂度。之前我的上司曾跟我說過,去客戶那邊提案時,無論對方如何蠻不講理,也不要表達不悅。被羞辱的時候,眼淚不要掉下來(哭泣是弱者的反應,會讓侵略者更瞧不起你)。然後最重要也是最難的一點,那就是:親近你的敵人。這件事我始終做不到。英文有句話說:Keep your friends close and your enemies closer有些人很厲害,總是有辦法對不喜歡的人,表現出備加親愛的樣子,說謊時連眉毛也不會動一下。我個人的經驗是,那些對你特別客氣的人,其實最防著你因為人對於自己信任的人,往往比較容易說真話。所以如果你的老闆經常刁難你,也別難過啦,至少這個人沒有假惺惺,凡事都防著你。

上述這些職場生存法則,大家參考一下,要是真的忍不住在大庭廣眾下哭出來也沒關係啦,人生已經夠苦了,盡力就好,凡事無愧於心,不必太為難自己。大家努力做學問、拿學位之餘,別忘了也得努力朝萬人迷的目標邁進。

"Soft" Skills & Emotional Intelligence Will Help Get You Hired & Promoted

As your career progresses one of your goals is to ensure that your "hard" skills -- tangible, teachable skills and abilities that allow you to perform your job -- are up to snuff受到檢視(up to snuff原指達到一定的標準或要求). But in your effort to hone your hard skills磨練技巧, don't ignore your "soft" skills.

Soft skills, sometimes called "people skills" or "emotional intelligence," are less tangible qualities比較不那麼具體實際的特質 that determine how you manage your own behavior, as well as interact with and get along with others. While soft skills are more difficult to measure than hard skills, they are just as important when it comes to job prospects and advancement. 
We spend years mastering on our hard skills. We should spend a comparable amount of time proactively improving our soft skills. This article explores 7 ways lack of soft skills can kill your career.

7. Emotion Overload

Are you quick to anger很容易發脾氣, or easily frustrated容易感到沮喪? If you can't control your emotions and keep a cool head保持冷靜 when the going gets tough, you'll be perceived as a hothead性急暴躁之人 who can't think clearly.
According to the Penn Behavioral Health Corporate Services, emotional outbursts情緒爆發 are threatening to co-workers and colleagues, and can result in low productivity低產值

6. Lack of Self-Confidence

It's normal to feel challenged as you make the larger transitions throughout your career. But it's one thing to feel nervous, quite another to let them see you sweat.
If you don't have belief in yourself, you can be sure that no one else will. Figure out what's causing your lack of confidence -- lack of training or experience, for example -- and address it head on面對問題找出解決方案. Start by pretending you believe in yourself. Sooner or later, you'll convince yourself you do. And once that happens, others will be convinced as well.

5. Poor Communication Skills

Are you considered a good listener? Can you articulate清楚表達 your own thoughts and ideas in a way that others understand and appreciate?
Good communication skills -- and that means on both the giving and the receiving side -- are necessary to develop the strong interpersonal skills人際技巧 that are so integral不可或缺的 to an organization's success. A study done by Rice University showed that communication occupies up to 90 percent of a typical manager's day, so it makes sense that poor communication would be a total career killer.不擅長表達溝通的人,等於是在從事慢性生涯自殺

4. You're a Quitter

If your energy flags降低(下降) during challenging times or during difficult projects, or if you have a habit of being impatient and giving up, the proof will be in the pudding顯而易見的/很明顯的: goals simply won’t be met你不會達成目標.
When promoting employees, organizations look for individuals who have persevered堅持到底直到成功 during tough times, encouraged others to be their best, and have helped to motivate激勵 and drive驅策 co-workers and colleagues. If you have a habit of giving up when the going gets tough遇上困難, don’t expect to go too far. 

3. Can't Deal with Office Politics/Politicians

Don't think you can escape them.
There’s a Sabotaging愛扯後腿陷害人的 Sam, Complaining怨天尤人的 Cathy, and Passive-Aggressive被動攻擊型的人 Pete in just about every office. Whether you get sucked into their drama捲入他人是非圈中 or remain above the fray八卦不沾鍋 is up to you. An ability to both get along with and get the most out of difficult personalities, as well as a gift for avoiding inevitable office politics, will stand you in good stead. 
這一段很重要。不管公司多小,只要是兩人以上公司,就會有是非辦公室政治指的就是這些明爭暗鬥。既然免不了,就得好好面對真正成功的人是不樹敵,廣結善緣,有能力化解紛爭,又不選邊站的不沾鍋。可惜這些能力學校沒有教。

2. Inability to Coach, Mentor & Guide

Those who are willing to help others succeed are seen people who ultimately affect an organization's bottom line. Spend some time recognizing the expertise and excellence in others, and help them hone and develop those skills as well as acquire new skills to increase competency提升實力Helping others through constructive criticism建設性批評, feedback回應, and guidance will not only help others further their careers在職場上節節高升, it will also help you further yours.

1. Lack of Networking社交能力/Self-Promotion Skills

How do people know how great you are? Encourage people to be in your network by attending the right industry events, reaching out to the right individuals, and engaging them in interesting conversation that brands you as an expert營造行家與專才的形象.
Learn how to subtly不著痕跡地, yet effectively, promote your work results, knowledge, and skills by keeping in touch with people who have influence. When you begin to influence people who have influence, you have set yourself up to succeed. 
這一段要特別小心,千萬別邀功,自讚毀他,自吹自擂討人厭,所以要不著痕跡地幫自己建立良好形象。this takes years of practice.這需要多年的練習,別忘了多觀摩見習高人的方式,多出去看看,不要宅在自己的圈圈裡面。

    我查了 The Free Dictionary 解釋
    up to snuff and up to scratch
    Fig. as good as is required; meeting the minimum requirements.

    我的理解是 "達到最低要求標準" 的意思

    但老師的解釋是 "受到檢視"

    是不是我沒有懂文章的真正意思?

    其實你說的沒錯
    up to snuff確實有達到最低要求或標準的意思
    所以也可說是「達到要求」
    但當時寫註解的時候覺得很不順
    所以自己延伸翻譯
    我應該加註一下確保大家知道這個說法的原意
