On the lighter side(較輕鬆不嚴肅的話題): A chef in hot water(有麻煩了/處境堪憂)
Celebrity chef Cheng Yen-chi, better known as較為人所熟知的 A-chi-shih or Chef A-chi, held a long-winded press conference冗長的 Wednesday
to admit he had an affair.
Dressed in a chef's outfit replete with a red ribbon around his neck, the beloved cook and TV personality廣受大眾喜愛的廚師與電視名人 left many scratching their heads 感到困惑after his rambling與無論次的說話, 40-minute-long media spectacle媒體奇觀 in which he confirmed that he had visited a motel with a women -- not his wife -- described by the press as a "cougar熟女" (shou nu), but denied having any inappropriate contact.不當接觸
In an attempt to試圖去… figure out what Cheng was going on about, one reporter asked point-blank直接了當: "Does your behavior constitute構成an affair?" The 60-year-old replied: "I think of it as a chance encounter巧遇."
He described the woman as a "fan," with whom he was seen entering a motel in Taipei twice in the recent weeks.
Viewers can hardly be blamed for being unable to sit through從頭到尾都耐心地聽完 the entirety of the press conference in which Cheng, who up until this week had an image as an擁有…形象 all-around great guy, seems to have just kept digging his hole deeper. Fortunately for them, local media has risen to the task and selected his "classic sayings語錄," listed here in no particular order.
1: "It's no big deal that we were mouth-to-mouth," he said. "That's an international custom(etiquette)國際禮儀 ... Only our mouths touched. It's not like (our) tongues were wandering here and there沒有喇舌. It's OK."
2: "We are completely innocent. After the garage door (at the motel) came down, we hugged a bit 稍微抱了一下to let her share our warmth. We did not take it further by going to the room inside to have any sort of interaction."
3: "She said 'hubby'老公 and just came at me like this," he said, making a hugging motion. "Now let me ask you," he said to reporters. "If I had further intimate contact (with her), how could it have only lasted 30 or 39 minutes?" He was referring to the time he and the woman spent in the motel in Taipei as reported in Next Magazine.
4: "My wife has supported me for dozens of years... She is a Buddhist佛教徒, a traditional follower of Amitabha信阿彌陀佛, a typical country girl, so her sense of propriety 禮貌and her level of tolerance 忍受度are better than most."
While the chef told Apple Daily Friday that he will take time off from請假 cooking show hosting duties烹飪節目主持人 and may quit show business altogether,退出演藝圈 he is unlikely to be forgotten in the short term.短期內

"There's no need, no need" to sue the weekly(此指的是壹周刊 a weekly magazine) which broke the story 報導此事of his motel tryst 摩鐵幽會, for defamation誹謗, he said.
The chef, who has been a household name家喻戶曉的名字 for years, won the hearts of millions of Taiwanese 獲得成千上萬台灣人的喜愛for his candor 真誠and sincerity in contrast with 相較於politicians and businessmen perceived as trying to shirk responsibility 逃避問題for the edible oil crisis 食用油危機earlier this year.
