Moves Trump Speed最快的速度 for Cheetahs獵豹

Cheetahs rarely reach top speed when hunting, but rather rely on仰賴 rapid acceleration瞬間快速加速 and agility靈活敏捷度 to catch their prey捕捉獵物.

Cheetahs reign as公認是 the fastest land mammals陸地上的哺乳動物, capable of sprinting疾速衝刺 at speeds reaching about 65 miles an hour時速65英哩(相當於時速104公里). But when hunting in the wild, the big cats rarely reach top speed跑至極速. Instead they rely on rapid acceleration快速加速 and agility to catch their prey. That’s according to a study in the journalNature.

Most previous research examined cheetahs running in a straight line直線方式衝刺 or in a controlled habitat人為控制的棲息地. To find out how the big cats move in the wild, researchers put tracking collars追蹤項圈 on five wild cheetahs in Botswana波札那(位於非洲南部，以鑽礦聞名，不過國內經濟發展雖繁榮，貧富卻非常懸殊). Each collar used GPS(Global Positioning System全球地位系統) and other technology to measure each cat’s position, velocity速度, and acceleration加速度. The collars recorded and uploaded data from 367 hunting runs狩獵跑程 in a 17-month period.

On these runs, the cheetahs on average topped out at最快的速度(到達頂點的數據) only about half their maximum speed. The slower pace allowed the cats to quickly decelerate減速 and reaccelerate重新加速 into fast, tight turns急轉彎—the better to avoid getting faked out by prey避免被獵物耍詐呼嚨(騙到)，有些獵物會透過一些技巧，試圖擺脫獵豹的追逐’.
